These are photos (touch and hold any and it will expand) from our Center for Creative Activities in Izmail, Ukraine. First, are portraits of children and staff. Of the 96 images I took, I chose 6. Of the six I chose, I really only like two: "Each day is a new chance..." and the little girl Varya holding her knees. That's because I like clarity, composition, and the suggestion of story.
The following six are called "Daily Activities" because every day in every class our teachers take photos with cell phones, showing what kids are doing. Every mother has an app called Telegram, and a Contact on Telegram called "This Child Here Center Photo." They can see their child or children. Even in America, we can view the children, staff and activities of the day, every day. You could view these photos every day with the Telegram app. Daily Activities are about the core program of This Child Here: creating a community of love, trust, and support, even in a time of war.
The final photo was taken by Oli at the Ukrainian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania. That day, I received the visa that leads to residency in Ukraine so I can come and go as I please without the 90 day limit.
This war is relentless. I know. Thank you for your relentless support of what we are doing in Ukraine.
